Eyebrow Tattoo and Permanent Makeup Brows in Miami: What THEE BEST BROWS Offers

THEE BEST BROWS is a brow studio at 3333 Rice St in Coconut Grove, Miami, where founder Mak does every stroke by hand. "Permanent makeup" (often shortened to PMU) is the everyday name for cosmetic brow work that places pigment in the skin. At this studio the pigment-based brow services are microblading and nanoblading, with a combination of the two recommended at an in-person consultation when it suits you. This guide explains what the term means, how to choose a technique and what else is on the menu.

Is an eyebrow tattoo the same as microblading?

People use eyebrow tattoo, brow tattoo and permanent makeup for any brow service that places pigment in the skin. At THEE BEST BROWS those services are microblading and nanoblading, both drawn by hand as fine, hair-like strokes. Healed results typically last between 1 and 3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure and skincare products, which is why many people call them semi-permanent.

What does permanent makeup mean for brows?

The term is used loosely. In practice, people say permanent makeup for any brow procedure that leaves pigment in the skin so you need less daily pencil or powder. The label is a little misleading, because the results are not forever.

The studio's FAQ says healed microblading and nanoblading results typically last between 1 and 3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure and skincare products such as retinols and exfoliants. Many people therefore describe the work as semi-permanent. If a studio uses either word, ask what it means for that service and how long the results are expected to last.

Which brow services are on the menu?

The live services page lists the options below. Every procedure includes personalized facial mapping and pigment selection.

Pigment-based brow services

  • Microblading. The studio's signature service for more defined, effortless brows. Single session $777, or $1,111 for a package of 2 sessions. Details are in the microblading guide.
  • Nanoblading. Finer, feather-like strokes made with a thinner nano blade. Single session $888, or $2,222 for a package of 3 sessions. Details are in the nanoblading guide.
  • Combination. The in-person consultation includes a technique recommendation of nano, microblading or a combo.
  • Annual touch-up. From $444, for existing clients who have had at least two sessions of microblading or nanoblading within 12 months.
  • Correction. For previous permanent makeup done by another artist: $3,333 with a $500 deposit, up to 3 sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. Pre-approval is required, so send clear photos to (786) 579-1669 before booking.

Shaping and styling services

The menu groups these under "Shaping, Shade & Lamination": expert brow design ($77), shape and shade ($111), lamination ($111), shape refresh ($44), brow shading ($55) and guybrows ($44). Read each description on the services page to see what a given service involves before you book. The menu also includes services beyond brows.

How do you choose between microblading and nanoblading?

The only difference is blade size, and all of Mak's work is done by hand with no machine. Microblading uses a micro blade. Nanoblading uses a thinner nano blade for finer strokes. The studio describes microblading as its signature service for the most defined brows and nanoblading as soft and feather-like.

You do not have to decide alone. The $111 in-person consultation includes brow mapping, a pigment and skin analysis and a technique recommendation. A virtual consultation is $0 and takes 10 minutes, held by FaceTime, Zoom or Google Meet. The in-person fee requires a $50 deposit and may be applied toward a future procedure within 30 days.

Why do permanent makeup brows fade, and what helps?

Pigment fades gradually. Skin type, sun exposure and products such as retinols and exfoliants all affect how long it lasts. Because the thinner nano blade makes finer strokes, the FAQ notes nanoblading can fade a bit faster, so some clients benefit from an additional perfecting session. The studio recommends an annual touch-up to keep color and stroke definition crisp.

What does aftercare involve?

Per the studio's FAQ:

  • Brows look darker and bolder for the first 3 to 5 days, and soft flaking begins around day 7.
  • Keep brows clean and dry for 10 days and apply a light film of the aftercare balm provided at the studio.
  • Full healed color appears around week 4.

Before your session, avoid alcohol, caffeine, ibuprofen, aspirin and fish oil for 24 to 48 hours, and stop retinols, AHAs, BHAs and chemical peels around the brows at least 2 weeks ahead. For anything about your own health or skin, check the FAQ and talk with Mak at your consultation.

What if you already have brow tattooing or microblading elsewhere?

You must book the studio's correction service or send clear photos to (786) 579-1669 for pre-approval before booking. Do not book a standard session in this case.
